Philanthropy 1-2-3
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
At the 2004 Convention, Kappa Kappa Gamma adopted Reading is Fundamental (RIF) as our national philanthropy. RIF works to build a literate nation by helping young people discover the joy of reading. RIF's highest priority is to serve the nation's under-served children and families through the development and delivery of literacy programs and campaigns that motivate youth to read regularly. BIAA supports RIF through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals. BIAA supports RIF through it's work with Esperanza Academy and through other fundraising efforts. For more information, please visit rif.org.
Esperanza Academy, School of Hope, provides a quality education for girls by challenging each student to realize her potential by developing academic competence, confidence, curiosity, integrity and hope. It is a tuition-free school that creates an enriched environment fostering individual success and community commitment for fifth through eighth grade girls from Lawrence, Massachusetts. For more information, please visit their website at http://www.esperanzaacademy.org/.
BIAA also supports the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums. To learn more about the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, please visit kappa.org.
