The Contra Costa County Alumnae Association
Dear Kappa Sisters,
Sandra Day O’Connor was quoted in “The Nine” by Jeffrey Toobin – ‘Everybody Should Volunteer!!!’
I am so impressed and appreciative to all my CCC alums for your loyal efforts of time and commitment since 1970 when our association began. Most of you reading and previous members have served in many different capacities and KKG humbly thanks you all.
My highest praise goes out to two former Presidents, Penny and Joanne for organizing a volunteer effort @ Shelter, Inc., a program for homeless families in Contra Costa County. They furnished ‘back to school’ backpacks filled w/ goodies for the children at the shelter. Penny and Joanne hope to establish an evening when they and other alums can read and tutor children in the homeless shelter. Cheers to our ever present Kappas looking out for others truly in need of our support.
I would also like to thank Kari, VP Programs and Communications for her tireless work to complete a fun list of programs and her great reminders via Evites.
We are in need of a Membership Chair – right now Nancy, Treasurer and I share this responsibility. Many kudos especially to Joanne, Newsletter for how many years now, I’m not sure…..Joanne can you fill in please? She would also like a replacement next year. She has it very well organized and will train.
I will also be stepping down as President as my 87 yrs. Father’s health continues to rapidly decline. So, please email me if anyone can help thepurringtonpeople@comcast.net I’d really appreciate it and am willing to assist as co-president if that helps.
I am pleased to announce that our associations micro site https://associations.kappakappagamma.org/contracostacounty - is a work in progress as I create content that abides by Kappa's strict guidelines, so our content will be secure from outsiders and abide by Kappa rules, etc. Perhaps we’ll even have pretty pictures of our events to add to this fun technology.
Let’s all welcome in a new year of friendship, health and happiness as we begin our year of 2009-2010.
Loyally,
Laurie
President
