2010 KAPPA BOOK & AUTHOR DINNER

We are pleased to announce exciting new details for the 21st Book & Author Dinner. Our three authors have been selected - Martin Cruz Smith, known for his Gorky Park/Arkady Renko series; Meg Cabot, known for her Princess Diaries series; and Donald P. Ryan, well-known archeaologist and Egyptologist. Between Russian investigator Renko, Cabot's new vampire release, Insatiable and Ryan's probing beneath the sands of Egypt, this program promises to be diverse and exciting.

We are very happy to continue our partnership with Barnes & Noble including the on-line Kappa Book Fair between September 10 and September 24, 2010 and the in-store Kappa Book Fair between September 10 and September 19, 2010. The code to be used when purchasing books or other items through Barnes & Noble during these dates is 10205094. The Iris Foundation will receive a portion of the sales.

Proceeds from the event support Craig Hospital's Harry R. Hahn, M.D. Alumni Scholarship Fund. These scholarships assist Craig alumni to pursue undergraduate or graduate education to prepare them for careers interrupted by life-changing injuries. Since 1990, the event has donated over $900,000 to the Hahn Scholarship Fund, resulting in more than 870 scholarship awards.

A smaller percentage of the proceeds provides scholarships for deserving members of Kappa Kappa Gamma through The Iris Foundation, a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. In total, the event has raised over $1 million dollars in scholarship funds since its inception.

First presented in 1990, the Kappa Book & Author Dinner has continued to grow yearly and is nationally recognized as one of the premier author events in the country.
