Dear Kappa Sisters,

How many enduring memories we all have of our active collegiate Kappa years – and of the continuing Kappa experiences as alumnae. Kappa is always here for us forever. Yes, Kappa is for a lifetime!

Welcome to the Denver Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma, celebrating 112 years of fun, friendship and Fraternity since 1899! It is my honor to serve as your 2011-2013 Association President. Please join us as we embark and "Discover the Magic of Kappa ~ Fun, Friendship and Fraternity."

Our Board leaders have created a year full of varied and fun activities to appeal to your interests and availabilities. We have four main groups:

Daytimers, Kountry Kousins (West Denver/Foothills)Night Owls (evening) & Career Kappas (working Kappas who meet for dinner and conversation). We have regular meetings September - May with special events such as our summer neighborhood parties, Sapphire Series of events, September Kick Off, Founders Day, Kappa Holliday Party, our Spring Luncheon and fun, educational programs with guest speakers.

We have a wide variety of Interest Groups: Antiques, Moms & Tots, Tennis, Kappa Stitchers, Kappa Golf, Bridge Club, Hiking and three Book Clubs: Daytime, Mystery Book Club which meets in the evening and Kountry Kousins Book Club. If there’s an interest group you would like to see added, please let us know. This is your association to discover the magic of and join!

There are Chapter Volunteer opportunities at our Colorado and Wyoming chapters. Serving as a chapter adviser or House Board member is a most rewarding experience; or help with Recruitment and Initiation. Modeling the Way for our active members that Kappa is truly for a lifetime is inspiring and a gift to our actives and ourselves.

All members of Kappa are encouraged to submit a Kappa Membership Reference Form in support of young women you know who are going through recruitment at their college or university. Please log in to access and download this form on the Member Download page of our website.

Philanthropy and the Denver Alumnae Association go hand in hand. We have a time-honored tradition of supporting our Denver metro community, Craig Hospital, the Kappa Foundation, Reading Is Fundamental and one another as Kappa sisters. We ask you to consider making a financial contribution to our Association’s named scholarships listed on the online 2011-2012 Membership Dues Form. Your support will help Kappas continue to learn and grow as they strive to achieve their college education.

The Kappa Book & Author Dinner will take place on October 6, 2011. Start organizing your table now! This year marks the 22nd year of this remarkable event benefiting Craig Hospital scholarships and the Kappa Foundation. I encourage everyone to support this year’s event by attending the dinner and spreading the word to family and friends. It’s always an enjoyable evening at the Hyatt Regency Tech Center. Contact kappabookauthor@gmail.com for ticket, table and committee information.

Our association is filled with loyal Kappas who have so much fun together in friendship that Kappas can only know. This can be intensified through your being with us. Support Kappa Kappa Gamma by submitting your dues by June 1. A portion of your dues ($17.00) goes directly to Headquarters to support our active chapters and alumnae associations, The Key Magazine and educational and leadership programming. As a member you will receive our monthly newsletter, The BlueNote, informing you of upcoming events and news about the association and our members. You will also have access to the private pages of our website and receive our annual association directory, The BlueBook. Together we all can “Discover the Magic of Kappa ~ Fun, Friendship and Fraternity.”
