Dear Kappa Sisters,
Welcome to the Denver Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma, celebrating 111 years of friendship since 1899! This organization has given me the good fortune of having fabulous friends; some are older, some are younger…but all share the bonds of Kappa Sisterhood! It is my honor to serve as your 2009-2011 president. Please join us as we embark on a fun-filled and rewarding year of friendship!
#1: Join! Just click on the Online Membership Dues Form below.
#2: Get Involved! There is a group within our association just waiting for you!
We have 4 main groups: Daytimers, Kountry Kousins (West Denver/Foothills), Night Owls (evening meetings) & Career Kappas (working Kappas who meet for dinner and conversation). We have regular meetings September - May with events such as September Kick Off, Founders Day, Kappa Holiday Party, Kappa Kasino Night, the Spring Luncheon and programs with guest speakers.
We also have a wide variety of Interest Groups: Book Clubs, Bridge Club, Stitchers, Moms & Tots, Antiques and Kappa Golf. If there is an interest group that you would like to see added…please let us know! (Movie Club, Theater Group, Hiking & Biking…) Your ideas are always welcome!
Make new friends while serving on one of our Committees: Book & Author Committee, Event Planning Committee, Technology Committee, Welcome Committee and our Fleur de Lis Committee just to name a few!
There are Chapter Volunteer opportunities at our Colorado and Wyoming chapters. Serve on House or Advisory Board or help with Recruitment and Initiation.
Philanthropy! Just around the corner we have Night Owls’ Kappa Karnival benefiting Children’s Hospital June 5th. Contact denverkappanightowls@gmail.com for more information. We also support Craig Hospital, New Garments Always, RIF, The Iris Foundation (scholarships for Colorado & Wyoming chapter actives) and The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation (Leadership Academy, Scholarships, Rose McGill and Holiday Sharing).
New! This year we will be introducing the Sapphire Series consisting of events and outings that don’t fit into our regular programming. Watch for happenings such as a Tea and Tour at Cherokee Ranch & Castle, an evening concert at Denver Botanic Gardens, hiking in Chautauqua Park, etc.
This year marks the 21st year of our remarkable Kappa Book & Author Dinner benefiting Craig Hospital scholarships, Kappa scholarships and Leadership Academy. More than $830,964 has been awarded in over 870 scholarships over the past 20 years. I encourage everyone to support this year’s event by attending the dinner and spreading the word to friends and family. Start organizing a table now! It is always an enjoyable evening!
Let’s make this year “One for the Books!”
The Kappa Book & Author Dinner will take place on September 16, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Tech Center.
Contact kappabookauthor@gmail.com for ticket, table or committee information.
