Design Inspirations

2012 marks the 19th year for Design Inspirations, a joint fundraiser of the Fort Worth Kappa Kappa Gamma and Pi Beta Phi alumnae groups. Design Inspirations features an upscale presentation of designer’s tables, a noteworthy speaker and a chance to give back to the Fort Worth community.

Design Inspirations features over 50 elegantly designed tables, creatively designed by local designers and individuals. Seeing the tables and the amazing character of each one will inspire you to do more with your own beautiful things at home! Guests view the tables at the Preview/Cocktail Party on Wednesday, February 29th or while enjoying a presentation for our guest speaker and lunch on Thursday, March 1st.

This year's event benefits two local charities, Gill Children's Services and Communities in School--Tarrant County. Gill Children's Services was established to respond to last resort needs of children and prevent them from falling through the cracks of our community's assostance network. The children Gill Children's Services help have critical unmet needs for specific services. In the last 30 years, more than 38,000 children referred by social workers, school nurses, hospitals and other agencies have turned to Gill Children's Services for assistance. Communities In School, the nations leading organization dedicated to empowering students to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS serves Tarrant County students who are identified by their schools as those who need assistance beyond the scope of services provided by schools in order to succeed in school and stay in school. CIS servces not only students, but their families. Most students meet federal poverty guidelines and most come from homes where no one has graduated from high school.

We are happy to announce this year’s speaker, Kathryn Ireland (www.kathrynireland.com). Kathryn M. Ireland was raised in London and Scotland. Named one of ELLE DÉCOR’s top 25 designers of the year, selected by House Beautiful as one of the top 100 designers in the United States, and touted by House and Gardens as one of ten designers to look out for in the millennium, Ireland’s design sensibility has allowed her to create comfortable homes for Hollywood A-listers, English aristocracy, and neighbors next door. She launched her own fabric line in 1997, which is now distributed worldwide. Ireland has appeared on A&E’s House Beautiful, PBS’s Find, Style Network’s Shabby Chic, and Food Network’s Barefoot Contessa, as well as participating in the UK’s ITV show Design Wars. Most recently, she starred in Bravo’s hit series, Million Dollar Decorators. Her design projects have been featured in Vogue Living, Elle Décor, House and Garden, House Beautiful, Veranda, W, and Traditional Home. She has a new wonderful book, Summer in France, just released in 2011.

Tickets range in price from $75 for an individual ticket to the Cocktail party to $1,400 for a patron table of eight which includes tickets to both the Cocktail Party and the Luncheon Presentation. Sponsorship levels are also available at $10,000, $7,500 and $5,000 for the Luncheon Presentation and $350 for two tickets for the Cocktail party.
