The Greater Pittsburgh Alumnae Association
The Greater Pittsburgh Alumnae Association (GPAA) of Kappa Kappa Gamma is an active association whose members all reside in the Pittsburgh area. This year, we also celebrate our 105th anniversary as an alumnae association! Our members are part of a diverse group that include graduate students, consultants, educators, stay-at-home moms, businesswomen, retirees, and everything in between. Our members are alumnae ranging from recent graduates to members who have been Kappas for more than 65 years!
Our events are also diverse in order to accomodate the various interests of our membership. A sampling of past and upcoming events includes Pirates games, children's book fairs as part of our philanthropic work with Reading is Fundamental (RIF), holiday parties, Founders Day luncheons, bowling, Steelers parties, business meetings, happy hours, and more. We also provide support and assistance to four collegiate chapters in the area: Delta Xi (Carnegie Mellon), Gamma Epsilon (University of Pittsburgh), Gamma Rho (Allegheny College), and Zeta Lambda (Washington & Jefferson College).
GPAA has received several awards in honor of our service to Kappa. At the Spring 2005 Beta Province Meeting, we received the Kappa Spirit Award for exemplifying the Spirit of Kappa with involvement with philanthropy, local chapters, and events for our members. At the 2006 Convention, GPAA was honored with the Rheva Ott Shryock Award for outstanding chapter support, and at the 2008 Convention, we received the Communication/Public Relations Award.
