The Jackson Alumnae Association
From Your President… . 2010-2011
Dear Sisters of Kappa Kappa Gamma,
Hopefully you have enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing summer! As fall is rapidly approaching, we hope you’ll start early making your plans to join other Jackson Kappas by participating in many of the various planned activities. In addition to some of our traditional activities, we also have planned some new events in order to satisfy a variety of interests. Please encourage others to participate in these exciting events…the more the merrier.
Serving as your President for this first year is very exciting. Please feel free to contact me at any time to give suggestions…I am open for them. We hope to again increase membership this year, so bring a Kappa friend! With the help of Shannon Blanks, we have set up our very own Kappa website. Please become a member of our site…it’s another way to stay up- to- date on our events and keep in touch with your sisters. We will post the calendar for the upcoming year and information on our active dues-paying members and pictures from each of the events. The website is http://associations.kappakappagamma.org/jackson. If you have any questions regarding the site please e-mail us at our new e-mail account: jacksonkkg@hotmail.com. We are going to continue our “member of the month”, keep a watch out for it. Also, be on the lookout for a phone call or e-mail, you may be the active member chosen! If you have suggestions on whom we may highlight each month, send those requests to Renee at neyney67@yahoo.com.
On this website you will find information on how to pay for this year’s membership (click on Membership and then Membership Dues, a user name and password will be required to access this page). Your membership dues allow us to provide food/drinks for events, keep our association active, and pay for our 50 year Pin Recipients’ badges, as well as numerous other things. Please note the dues format is the same as last year. We have many members that donate more than just the standard dues fee. WE WANT TO RECOGNIZE THEM!!! You will also see our calendar of events on the Kappa Kalendar page! These scheduled events are great opportunities for fun and fellowship, and involvement is “key” to having a successful alumnae association. However, if you do not feel you have time to participate in association events, simply becoming a member of the association is a chance to give back to Kappa. Look out for emails about out Rec Writing party come May.
I hope you all have a great year and I look forward to seeing you at Kappa events! Please feel free to e-mail or call with any questions or comments.
Loyally,
Stephanie Blue
