2011-2012 President's Letter

Dear Kappa Sisters,

I hope this letter finds you all happy and healthy! All too soon, the days will become shorter and the seasons will begin to change, so I hope you are enjoying the final weeks of summer!

I am thrilled to welcome all of you to another exciting year for the Northwest Suburban Alumnae Association. Before sitting down to write this letter, I took some time to really think about the importance of the sisterhood and bonds of Kappa. We live in a time full of careers, children, extracurricular activities, constant multi-tasking, and often just being spread too thin. How often do we, as women, really take the time that we need for ourselves? How many times do we say, "I really wish I would have...?" My hope is that all of you reading this letter will take the time you need once a month to celebrate the bonds of sisterhood within the Northwest Suburban Alumnae Association. Maybe it's been a while since you've been involved in Kappa, but that's okay! Personally, it had been a few years after college graduation before I even considered becoming involved in a Kappa alumnae group. I then remembered that Kappa is not only part of us during our college years, but our alumnae years make up the largest portion of our Kappa journey. Becoming involved in NWSAA has rejuvenated all the exciting feelings I had as an undergraduate living in the Kappa house. The bonds of sisterhood that we have developed in this group are continually growing and strengthening, and we are hoping that all Kappas living in our area will join us!

You will find our calendar of events inside the website. We have an exciting year planned and hope the variety of activities appeal to all generations of Kappas! I'm looking forward to reconnecting with and meeting new sisters at our September social event!

Loyally,

Kappa is not for one person to describe, because it exists not for one person to experience.
Kappa is you, Kappa is me; and in the very end, Kappa is another beginning.
