Dear Kappa Sisters,
It’s hard to believe that we have turned another page on the calendar, and we find ourselves, yet again, back in August! I welcome you all back to another great and exciting year for the Northwest Suburban Alumnae Association. I sincerely hope this newsletter finds you happy, healthy, and well rested!
In June, I had the privilege of attending the 69th Biennial Convention (my very first one!) in Jacksonville, Florida. It was wonderful to share ideas, laugh, and learn, while strengthening the ever-growing bond of sisterhood. Perhaps my greatest honor during the week was accepting, on behalf of NWSAA, the Sally Moore Nitschke Lifelong Education Award. This award was presented to our association for implementing programming that consistently models Pathways: Kappa’s Continuous Education Experience. As I accepted the certificate, I was overcome with pride and joy at how fortunate I am to belong to an association filled with such wonderful women. I can’t wait for all of us to celebrate this fabulous accomplishment!
During Convention, Kappa also unveiled its new brand identity and tagline—“Aspire to be.” This new phrase reminds all of us that Kappa is committed to helping all women in our organization reach their fullest potential. NWSAA is filled with talented and caring women that are committed to inspire those around them—family members, friends, co-workers, as well as Kappa sisters. As strong women, we set aspirations for ourselves on a daily basis. We all have the desire to learn and achieve the greatest success that we possibly can. I encourage and invite all of you to share these aspirations with your Kappa sisters. Our alumna years make up the largest portion of our Kappa journey, so make this the year that you will jump back on the Kappa path—regardless of whether you are new to NWSAA or a member who regularly attends. Together, in all facets of our lives, I am confident we will continue to empower those around us. Kappa Kappa Gamma—Aspire to be.
Inside the newsletter, you will find that calendar of events that we are sure appeal to all generations of Kappas. I am also thrilled to announce that NWSAA, along with Chicago Loop Group and Loyola University, will once again be hosting GIRLS Academy! Please stay tuned for more details! I look forward to reconnecting and meeting new sisters at our September social event.
Loyally,
