Three Cheers for Kappa Volunteers
Written by Gay Mathewson, Eta East Province Director of Alumnae
When we were girls and in our prime
We shared a joyous friendship time
We banned together in that valley of blue
We learned the value of Kappa and being loyal and true
The Kappa key, our badge, to be worn and displayed
Our symbol of sisterhood and the friends we have made
The Owl, a wise reminder of this gift of Kappa power
And the stately Fleur-de-lis, our special Kappa flower
Our lives as actives moved into a much wider sphere
Our earned alumnae status is much needed here
To serve as true sisters to young Kappas and old
To lead, learn and mentor as Kappas we are bold
Volunteer to be leaders and show Kappa pride
Volunteer to help scholars and serve side by side
Volunteer to advise, counsel and be there
On House Boards, Advisory Boards with Kappa love to share
Volunteer as a Kappa...show all your Kappa pride
Volunteer as a Kappa...do some sharing...be a guide
And who is the winner when you agree to do your part?
Why you, of course, because just look!
YOU HAVE A KAPPA HEART!
We would like to see more people to be involved! This is our “shout out” to see one new small group formed. No actual meetings, just a fun way to be a part of something bigger. Some ideas include: Moms with kids, Forks & Corks (dinner group), Travel buddies, Book club, Golf or Tennis, Career Kappas. Please send an email to Omahakappas@live.com or contact any of your Omaha Alumnae Association officers if you’d like to be in charge of starting one of these groups!
Or if you want to be involved with the OAA, AB, or HB please send an email.
