Reading is Key (RIK)
Reading is Key (RIK) is our chosen philanthropy and is Kappa national's associated fund to Reading is Fundamental (RIF). We support it by donating and distributing books to underprivileged students in Palm Beach County. RIK was founded in 1966 and is a non-profit literacy organization that prepares and motivates children to ready by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most. RIK provides 4.5 million children with 16 million new, free books and literacy books each year, with their highest priority to reach underserved children from pre-K to third grade.
Rose McGill Magazine Agency
Kappa keeps approximately 50% of the cost of each magazine sold. These funds are used to provide confidential aid to deserving Kappas of all ages who suddenly and unexpectedly find themselves in financial need due to misfortune or illness. Kappa will match or beat renewal offers, so order and renew your favorite magazines today. You receive a magazine and Kappa helps a member in financial need. Call 1-800-KKG-ROSE or order online at Kappa.org.
Holiday Sharing
Holiday Sharing is a Kappa "family" support system for Rose McGill Confidential Aid recipients. Each year at holiday time we apply for and are matched with a participant. Wish lists are provided while maintaining confidentiality. Participation in this event makes the holidays a happier time for recipients of Rose McGill aid.
