Philanthropy 1-2-3

Philanthropy is an opportunity for all of us to live out our Kappa values. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. We support our family – the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. The Foundation is entirely dependent upon Kappas for financial support, so chapters and associations are urged to make an annual contribution to the Foundation. Participating in Holiday Sharing or providing financial support to a Kappa chapter are also ways to support our family.
2. We participate in local projects that provide important services to less fortunate members of our communities. Often chapters and associations choose these philanthropies based on personal involvement by one or more of their members or because of a traditional commitment to the cause.
3. We support a project that has far-reaching results by joining Kappas everywhere in supporting our national philanthropy, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF).

Our Philanthropies

The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation - Each year the Philadelphia Alumnae Association gives thousands of dollars to support the Rose McGill Fund, Scholarships, and Leadership Initiatives all of which are a part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.

Literacy / Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) – The Philadelphia Alumnae Association. supports various literacy programs in the Philadelphia area primarily through volunteer hours and donations of books. RIF is a national non-profit organization which prepares and motivates underserved children to read by supplying free books and literacy resources.

Baker Industries – An outsource and fulfillment company which serves as a transitional employment opportunity for those members of society who are typically "unemployable," such as the mentally disabled in Delaware and Philadelphia Counties. Baker Industries employs people with disabilities, recovering substance abusers, individuals on parole, and homeless persons; teaching the importance of a solid work ethic in a real work environment.

A Woman's Place – This is a domestic abuse shelter in Bucks County that offers a range of assistance and support services for victims of domestic abuse and violence and their children, including a free 24-hour confidential hotline. It is a full-service residential shelter offering individual and group counseling, legal and medical advocacy, and a children’s program. A Woman’s Place also provides comprehensive community-based domestic violence training, education, outreach and advocacy.

Family Support Services – It is a social-service agency offering Child Welfare, Early Intervention and suburban School-based Childcare programs in Philadelphia and Delaware County. Through early intervention services; prenatal infant health support; parenting education and support programs; and school-based childcare, Family Support Services’ programs help as many as 2000 children.
