The San Fernando Valley Alumnae Association Philanthropy 1-2-3
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good. Supporting Our Sisters
The San Fernando Valley Alumnae Association supports the Epsilon Xi chapter at California State University Northridge. In addition to donating food for their annual fall recruitment, we help prepare and serve it so the actives can focus on meeting the potential new members. Throughout the year, we send notes and small packages to let them know we're thinking about them and encourage them to meet their goals. Local Service Projects
We have been participating in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women for several years. The 5K run/walk takes place in May and is held to support the fight against women's cancers - a cause that is near to our hearts. Service the Greater Good
Finally, our group actively supports Kappa's national philanthropy - Reading Is Fundamental. In order to encourage share our love of reading with today's youth, we collect books to donate to local schools and devote at least one of our monthly meetings to a RIF service project. Rose McGill Magazine Agency Don't forget about the Rose McGill Magazine Agency! They have a large selection of popular magazines and the proceeds go to our Association and the Rose McGill Fund to help Kappas in need. More information, including the opportunity to make your purchase online, can be found on the Kappa website (kappa.org) under the Philanthropy section. |
