Welcome to the San Francisco/Marin Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma!

Dear Kappa Women,

As you know the San Francisco-Marin Alumnae Association offers many benefits to its dues paying members.  I want to share with you my story as an example of the personal and professional development possible through the alumnae association.

Fresh out of college I moved to San Francisco about five years ago with no local friends, no job and no idea how to begin finding either.  I began attending casual alumnae association events such as Dinners for No Reason and Night Owls Happy Hours in search of a social network.  At one particular dinner I met Dayna who spoke about her position as a forensic accountant / litigation consultant; a career I had never heard of before, but as a math major, it was definitely something that caught my attention.  About two months after the dinner, I received an email over the Kappa list-serve.  Dayna was leaving her job to pursue business school and was recruiting accounting and math people (Kappas in particular!) to fill her position.  I quickly fired off a few questions, and eventually a resume, to which Dayna responded that she enjoyed meeting me months earlier and that she would immediately move my resume to the top of the pile!  Four years later I have built a successful career as a litigation consultant and I am thankful every day for the professional connections the alumnae association has afforded me.  What I thought would be a casual drink after work has turned into so much more…a career, amazing friendships and a wonderful extended Kappa family.

I now feel privileged to support the association in return by serving as the SF-Marin President for the second straight year.  I hope you will join me in discovering the many post-collegiate opportunities Kappa can offer.  Kappa truly is for a lifetime!

Loyally,
Kristen Botill
