The Scottsdale Alumnae Association
The Scottsdale Alumnae Association charter was granted on December 1, 1958. Over the past 51 years, the association has received numerous Fraternity awards. Some of the most recent accomplishments are highlighted below.
KAPPA CHORUS AT THE 2010 CONVENTION
The Scottsdale Alumnae Association is proud of and grateful for its outstanding member representation at the 2010 Convention. Under the direction of the association's local community conductor extraordinaire, an additional 25 members sang in the choir at all convention events! The director was honored for the opportunity to direct and appreciative of her wonderful accompanist and noted that "lovely Kappas of all ages blessed the convention with their talents."
2010 CONVENTION AWARD:
Honorable Mention, Almira Johnson McNaboe Award (Awarded for Region 7)
Grand Vice President Almira Johnson McNaboe first presented this award at the 1940 General Convention. The McNaboe Award has been presented in recognition of overall alumnae association excellence at every Convention since 1940.
Honorable Mention (Associations with 101-175 members) Patsy Bredwick Levang Philanthropy Award
This award was established in 2002 to honor Patsy Bredwick Levang, Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation President, for her outstanding service not only to Kappa Kappa Gamma but also to her local ad state communities. Consideration of well-rounded philanthropy programs that develop membership awareness and a commitment to a chapter, the community and/or the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation will be the criteria for the award.
2009 PROVINCE AWARD: The Vera Marine Alumnae Excellence Award
The Vera Marine Alumnae Excellence Award is presented to the association that has maintained a level of excellence throughout the biennium regardless of its size. The award is named in honor of Vera Marine, a former Betsy Prior Loyalty Award winner, member of the Arcadia Alumnae Association and past Director of Alumnae.
2008 CONVENTION AWARD:
Almira Johnson McNaboe Award (Awarded for Region Six)
Grand Vice President Almira Johnson McNaboe first presented this award at the 1940 General Convention. The McNaboe Award has been presented in recognition of overall alumnae association excellence at every Convention since 1940.
Rose McGill Magazine Award
This award is given to alumnae associations, in various membership sizes, that have strong two-year sales records of magazine subscriptions. The Fraternity Headquarters staff determines the winners.
Patsy Bredwick Levang Philanthropy Award
This award was established in 2002 to honor Patsy Bredwick Levang, Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation President, for her outstanding service not only to Kappa Kappa Gamma but also to her local ad state communities. Consideration of well-rounded philanthropy programs that develop membership awareness and a commitment to a chapter, the community and/or the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation will be the criteria for the award.
