The South Bay Alumnae Association
Philanthropy 1-2-3
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF)
At the 2004 National Convention, Kappa Kappa Gamma adopted RIF as our national philanthropy. RIF works to build a literate nation by helping young people discover the joy of reading. RIF‘s highest priority is to serve the nation‘s under-served children and families through the development and delivery of literacy programs and campaigns that motivate youth to read regularly.
South Bay Kappa Kappa Gamma supports RIF through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals.
Rose McGill Magazine Agency
South Bay Kappa Kappa Gamma also supports the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums.
Also, each year during the holiday season, the South Bay Kappas help out a Rose McGill Kappa in need with gifts and essentials.
Jewel Fund
South Bay Kappa Kappa Gamma also supports local University Chapters with scholarships provided by our association alumnae.
