The Waco Alumnae Association
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is Kappa's official philanthropy. This year the Waco association is excited to be joining our local Baylor Kappas in a reading program partnered with WISD. We will be meeting at Parkdale Elementary on Friday afternoons to assist children in special reading needs.
Waco Kappa Alumnae are encouraged to bring a children's book that would be appropriate for elementary children to our Kappa & Kin event this December! Be on the lookout as you're out shopping this fall. We will donate those books to Parkdale Elementary. President, Sarah Starr will send out an email periodically, giving the particular dates and time. This is another great way to help our Waco community!

Philanthropy 1-2-3
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
Our chapter women support elementary schools, Relay for Life, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity to name a few. Chapter fundraising events support causes such as the American Cancer Society, breast cancer/Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, tsunami relief, and multiple sclerosis research.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals.
Our chapters also have supported the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums.
