The Boise Valley Alumnae Association was granted a charter from Kappa Kappa Gamma Headquarters on April 16, 1921. There were nine founding members. Membership remained small at the beginning with 15 members in 1931. We now boast about 100 dues-paying members each year.
Our chapter is the largest in the Treasure Valley and one of the most active in the Northwest with 7 or more events each year.
We won the Iota East Margaret Ream Larsen Sisterhood Award at the 2009 Province Convention. This award recognizes the alumnae association that best exemplifies the meaning of sisterhood among its members. We provide support to two active chapters, Beta Kappa at the University of Idaho in Moscow, and Zeta Pi at The College of Idaho in Caldwell. Our philanthropies include the active chapters, support for the Kappa Foundation, the Leadership Academy, Reading Is Fundamental, and the Women’s and Children’s Alliance. Each year we host a fundraiser in the winter time. Please check back for more information.
Officers and board members are elected each spring and serve for one year. Please email us at email@example.com if you would like to be added to our mailing list and kept updated on Association events and activities. The BVAA is all about staying connected! We would love for you to be involved! Please send us your email, home address, and phone number whenever you move so that you may stay connected with Kappas. Kappa is for life!
