DAA Special Interest Groups:
A group geared toward younger Kappas in their 20's and 30's. Activities take place in the evenings or weekends. If you are interested in growing this group of "Kareer Kappas", contact us. Our group is currently not active but we would be happy to put interested members in contact with each other. As an alternative, see our lunch bunch and dinner group below. We are just getting started so feel free to join us anytime and also to make suggestions for locations and activities.
Lunch Bunch and Dinner Group---
This is an informal group of all ages that meets randomly throughout the year at different venues. Activities may include a wine and painting evening, dinner and a movie (or not a movie!) and trivia or special events. We will try to alternate with an occasional lunch to accomodate different schedules. We will post information on our Dayton Alumnae Association facebook page as well as send out e-mails. Contact Terri Hemmelgarn at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. We would love to have you.
Dayton Alumnae Panhellenic Association (DAPA)
On April 20, 2013, the Dayton Alumnae Panhellenic Association celebrated its 80th Anniversary! The festivities took place at The Hope Hotel at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. While attracting over 220 women, a silent auction sported over 75 items to peruse, a raffle drawing, luncheon, scholarship program and a fashion show for all ages. DAPA is one of 290 Alumnae Panhellenic Associations in the United States & Canada supporting women’s fraternities and sororities. Over the past decade, we have provided scholarships totaling more than $99,600 to college women of the Greater Dayton area. This year we were able to award a total of $5,400 in scholarships to Greek collegiate and alumnae women.
Today, the Dayton Alumnae Panhellenic Association (DAPA) consists of seventeen active sorority/fraternity alumnae chapters and clubs and four semi-active alumnae chapters and clubs. All alumnae groups are members of the National Panhellenic Conference. We support and work with several local college Panhellenic Associations: University of Dayton, Wright State University, Wittenberg University.
DAPA is a great way to meet fellow sorority women in the Dayton area. One way to support DAPA is to attend the Panhellenic Fashion Show! The next DAPA Fashion show, "Sashay into Spring", will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016 from 11A.M. to 2 P.M. It will be held at Hope Hotel, WPAFB. Contact us for more information or if you would like to be a part of planning for this great fundraiser. we are looking for 1-2 Dayton alums who would serve as Panhellenic delegates for Kappa in the Dayton Alumnae Panhellenic Association. Contact us if you are looking for a great way to serve our community and support our Scholarship misssion while meeting other Panhellenic members of our community.
