2014 Reading Is Fundamental Event
KC Kappas brought a “Rainbow Fish” experience to the Children's Place on Friday, March 28. In support of the Reading is Fundamental philanthropy, Kappas donated copies of “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister, read to the children while they snacked on Goldfish crackers and helped them with an art project. Both KC Kappas and the children had a blast! Many thanks to Erica H. for organizing this heartwarming event.
KC Kappas is an organization with a strong background in philanthropic endeavors. Our association contributes to RIF and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation as well as many local Kansas City charities.
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
Our alumnae members support numerous well-deserving organizations across the Kansas City metropolitan area - through fund development, hours of volunteer service and monetary donations.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals.
Locally, we support RIF through reading programs and book donations to Operation Breakthrough and The Children's Place.
Our association has supported the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums.
On a local level, our 2014 Holiday Homes Tour proceeds will benefit SAFEHOME (www.safehome-ks.org) and Kansas City Community Gardens (www.kccg.org). If you are an individual interested in helping offset the costs of producing our Tour by becoming an "Owl Friend" ($1 - $2,500), please click here for more information or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
