2016-2017 Season:

  • September:  Tuesday, 9/13/16 - Book Club Movie Night!  Dinner, movie & selecting this season's books.  Earl's Bar at 5:00, Movie at Lincoln Square Cinemas around 7:00.  RSVP to Joy Sheppard at or 425-444-9115.  

  • October:  Tuesday, 10/11/16  2pm  Panera Bread at the Factoria Mall (4004 Factoria Blvd SE).  Looking Like the Enemy by Mary Gruenewald. 

  • November:  Friday,  11/4/16  6:45pm Bellevue Presbyterian Church Literary Night.  The theme is:  Native Sons: Belonging, Hope, Race, & the American Dream.   Books included in the presentation are Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, Native Son by Richard Wright, and The Son by Philipp Meyer.   The event is led by the pastor, Scott Dudley & his wife, both graduates of Stanford U.   We are reading The Son by Philipp Meyer in advance (or read all 3 of them!).   

  • December (almost):  Wednesday, 11/30/16  2pm at Book-It Theatre in Seattle.  Treasure Island.  Read the book also if you’d like!  Please send $25 by Friday, September 30th to Joy Sheppard, 2007 106th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA to get a seat with the group (it is a small theater, so if you want to just buy your own ticket we won’t be far away). 

  • January:  Tuesday, 1/10/17 2pm Panera Bread in Factoria Mall.  Book discussion - Honeydew by Edith Pearlman 

  • February:  Tuesday,  2/7/17 (first Tuesday due to Valentine’s Day) 2pm Panera Bread in Factoria Mall.  Book discussion - Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker: A Novel  by Jennifer Chiaverini

  • March:  Tuesday 3/14/17 2pm Panera Bread in Factoria Mall.  Book discussion - Ordinary Grace by William Ken Krueger

  Tentative – will confirm in the spring

  • April:  Tuesday 4/25/17 7:30pm.  Author Helen Oyeyemi at Benaroya Hall.  $20.  Read one of her books:  The Icarus Girl, Boy Snow Bird, Mr. Fox, What is Not Yours is Not Yours (selection tbd). 
  • May:  Tuesday 5/9/17 2pm Panera Bread in Factoria Mall.  Book discussion - Nightingale by Hannah Kristan

  • June:  maybe Welcome to Braggsville at Book-It Theatre (begins June 6th).
