11/2/18, Friday, 6:45pm-8:30pm BelPres Literary Night Bellevue Presbyterian Church 1717 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue 98004.  Pastor Scott & Christina Dudley will share another insightful night into literature.  From their announcement:  Comedy involves more than just laughter.  It is often a way to instruct and transform by approaching issues like love, sex, race, politics, and society in a non-threatening way.  We will talk about how comedy slips past our defenses to challenge, enlighten, and insprire us in William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, Alexie Sherman's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Anita Loos' Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and selections from Mark Twain's Roughing It and Innocents Abroad.  (This is a lecture format and it is ok to attend without reading the book selections).  Drinks & Appetizers before at Joy Sheppard's house at 5pm.  RSVP to Joy at 425-444-9115 or jmshepp@msn.com for address.
