The Kappa Kappa Gamma Lubbock Alumnae Association is made up of three groups who work together for the common good: the Active alums, the Patron alums (nonactive) and the Night Owls (our young professionals).
From the president:
For starters, I just want to say thank you for all of the support you all have shown the Lubbock Kappa Kappa Gamma AA over the last year and the beginning of this 2013 - 2014 year! How blessed we are to have such an involved group of women who love to get together and celebrate being a Kappa! Last year, we reached so many goals including increasing our membership from 55 to 75 paying members! What an accomplishment! In addition to increasing membership, we also donated books to a local elementary school Library, and participated in many events to help Texas Tech KKG chapter including, recruitment, initiation, Founders day, and assistance throughout the year!
As we are full swing into our new calendar year, we have set several new goals and hope to accomplish them with flying colors! Our officers had the opportunity to meet with Sara Lupo, a kappa trainer from HQ, to have some training and set goals for this year. The goals we set for our association are to increase membership by 20% and participate in the Rose McGill Holiday Sharing Program. We had a great turnout for our first “Bring a Friend” lunch at Stella’s Restaurant, as well as response to the emails regarding dues! We are continuing to strive toward our membership goal, so be sure to encourage your fellow Kappa Alums to come to meetings and events! We have also received the information to participate in this year’s Holiday Sharing program, and are excited to share more information with you on a Kappa sister we will be supporting this holiday season! Look for more information to come!!
We installed new officers in April, and have set up many fun events for this coming year. Attached is the newsletter, schedule for events we have planned, and an officer list! Also, a big THANK YOU to all of you who are helping to get our Galleys cleaned up!
I am thrilled to be involved with such fun and supportive women; it makes my job easy and fun!
