The Seattle Alumnae Association was founded on October 22, 1917, and currently has over 200 members in and around the greater Seattle area. You do not need to live in Seattle to be a member of our association. Any Kappa alumna is welcome to join!

We are excited for what is in store for our website! We are currently working on the new and improved Seattle Alumnae Association website and will have it up and running very soon.
In the meantime, we have been updating members via our monthly 'Hoot n Holler' email newsletters. If you do not receive these emails and would like to be added, please email us!
Over the past few months we have enjoyed our annual Trick or Treat event at the Beta Pi house, our big Study Treat Bag fundraiser, and our very popular holiday party!

As you go about your spring cleaning this year, please remember to save any elementary school level books (for pre K-5th grade level readers) to donate to RIF - Reading is Fundamental - our national philanthropy. The local Beta Pi chapter will be collecting books through mid-April for an event with a Seattle school. They will be donating the books in addition to doing fun activities with the students. The Kristy LeMond Spring Luncheon is quickly approaching on April 26. Please join us for this annual event which is a great opportunity to reconnect with Kappas of all ages! The summer months are still here, but we are looking ahead to Founders Day in October. This annual event is a perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and celebrate Kappa. We've also added a special auction component this year to raise funds in honor of our sister Kristy LeMond. Please help Reading is Fundamental (RIF) bring brooks to children and families in need this summer. From June 21 to July 21, visit your local Macy’s store to participate in the Be Book Smart campaign by donating $3 at any register in the store to help provide a book for a child in our local community. Macy’s will donate the full amount to RIF and you will receive a coupon for $10 off an in-store purchase of $50 or more! Last year, Macy’s helped to raise $4.8 million for RIF, providing 1.6 million books to children in need. Click here for more information.
Our board is seeking Kappa alumnae to join in the fun of planning events and organizing philanthropic projects in the area. We had another wonderful Spring Luncheon this year! A highlight for everyone was hearing Rosanna Bowles share about the importance of family, community and tradition. Thank you to all who attended and helped make this event possible!

It's time for something FUN, FESTIVE + HEALTHY for the new year. Join KKG alumna Sarah Adler, nutrition and health coach and owner of nutrition business SIMPLY REAL HEALTH, as she teaches about the basics of healthy eating, cooking and living for the modern woman. Thank you to the many women who volunteered their time to the Broadview Emergency Shelter annual Halloween party. We appreciate those who baked and donated items ahead of time, as well as volunteered that evening. The families had a fun-filled evening complete with pizza, face painting and trick-or-treating!
Thank you to all who attended the Founders Day celebration and luncheon at the Women's University Club, hosted by the Lake Washington Alumnae Association this year. It was a wonderful afternoon full of many alumnae receiving their 50-year pins, glassybaby sales to benefit Girls Academy and all things Kappa.

An adventurous group of Seattle Kappas, their spouses and four-legged friends successfully completed the Snow Lake hike this past weekend. The beautiful journey to the top came complete with gorgeous sun, a hail storm, snow and some tricky stream crossings. Way to go!
