Dear Sierra Kappas,
Another year. Another newsletter! It has been a good year for our group. Although we did not have our highest membership to date…we had record attendance at most meetings! There are several photos throughout this newsletter of meetings from last year. Take a look and see all our happy Kappa faces. Founders Day was hosted by Margaret VanDyken last year. We enjoyed fabulous food (we really need to make a recipe book), pinned a number of 25 year, 50 and 60 year Kappas and participated in ritual that always seems to remind us of what KKG is all about! We enjoyed wine, eggrolls and a great presentation at PF Changs for our winter meeting, which Luann Moore helped pull together at the last minute. Susan Hill put together a wonderful spring meeting with information on breast cancer and general health! This summer we met at the Lone Eagle Grille for lunch and had 16 Kappas attend! It was awesome to meet some new women! Overall it was a productive year for  our association.
I am very excited for the upcoming year! We are starting off the year with a bit of a nontraditional-type meeting, but it is bound to be a blast! I look forward to great conversations and learning a thing or two about the Mustang Ranch. Founders Day should be a hoot and I am excited that we are stepping out to Truckee! Trinkie Watson has nothing but positive things to say about the Dragonfly Café. Our winter meeting should be  FABULOUS! We had to reschedule this presenter last year due to circumstances and I am looking forward to hearing about women’s safety! Back this year is the spring museum tour! I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will have a great exhibit in town this spring! Finally we will end our year with our famous lunch at the lake. I also hope to put together some happy hours and small outings throughout the year that might spark your interest.
Be sure to check your email, Facebook and website for upcoming events and details. It is an honor to be the president of this group! We are a group of different and dynamic women bonded by KKG! I hope to see many of you again AND I look forward to meeting new Kappas in the area!
